Proposed changes to bus routes
The 557 which currently runs from Heathrow Terminal 5 to Woking via Stanwell Moor,Ashford Hospital, Sunbury, Shepperton and St Peter's Hospital is to be changed to run only from Sunbury Tesco to Woking via Addlestone missing out St Peter's.
If the proposed changes to Surrey's bus networks go ahead, there will only be two bus services providing access to St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey, the 446 (Staines to Woking) and the 461 (Staines to Kingston via Woking).
The effect of these changes will:
- Deny access to a bus service for residents of Stanwell Moor
- Remove a route to and from work for those from Shepperton, Sunbury, Ashford, Stanwell and Stanwell Moor working at Terminal 5
- Remove a direct link between Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals and all the communities in between
- We should be providing access to our hospitals via public transport for the communities they serve.
